2025 has been a year of profound change for me. In June, I lost my husband—my best friend, my partner in every sense of the word. Life looks very different now, and I’m learning to navigate this new chapter as a widow.

Through it all, travel has remained a constant in my life. In recent years, I’ve taken many business trips on my own, as my husband’s work often kept him from joining me. Now, traveling solo isn’t just a necessity—it’s become a calling.

I’ve realized that Solo Travel is no longer a niche idea; it’s a movement. Whether by choice or by circumstance, more people than ever are discovering the joy and empowerment that comes with exploring the world on their own. And the travel industry is responding. Many cruise lines and tour operators are not only recognizing solo travelers—they’re welcoming us with open arms. They’re reducing or waiving single supplements, offering beautiful accommodations (not forgotten corners of a ship or uninspiring hotel rooms), and creating spaces where traveling alone feels special, not second-best.
