Let’s talk cruising. A cruise vacation can be an incredible experience, offering comfort, convenience, and adventure all in one. If you are looking for a memorable and hassle-free vacation, a cruise may just be the ticket!
Relaxation & Comfort

Cruise ships offer a range of amenities and facilities allowing you to unwind and enjoy your time aboard. Cruise ships have a variety of cabin choices for every level of comfort as well as spas, pools, fitness centers and comfy deck chairs. It is easy to relax on a cruise vacation.

Variety of Activities

There is always something to do onboard a cruise ship, regardless of your age and interests. There is live entertainment, games such as bingo, some ships have casinos and the mega ships have water parks and kids zones. Most cruise lines have Kids Clubs that are age appropriate from early years up to teenagers. All in the safety of a closed ship environment.

Great Value

A cruise fare typically includes your accommodations, meals, entertainment and traveling between destinations on the itinerary. When compared to a land vacation, this is a super convenient and affordable way to travel. And you can unpack your suitcase and stash it away until it is time to disembark your ship. Also, you do not have to worry about getting to your next destination as the ship’s captain has that job.

Unique Destinations

You can explore multiple ports in a single cruise. A 7 day itinerary typically includes at least 3 port cities, making it an efficient way to see the world. These destinations can be tropical islands, hidden gems, rugged coastlines, historic sites, glaciers and fjords depending on your itinerary.

These are just a few of the many reasons cruise vacations can be so amazing. What about the social aspect? I have always left a cruise with at least 1 new friend, if not more. You have the opportunity to meet people from around the globe and interact with them during excursions or onboard organized activities designed for passengers mixing it up. A great way to make new and lasting relationships!
What kind of cruise vacation experiences are there? There are more than you might think or know about. We will take a brief look at some options.
River Cruising

This is becoming increasingly popular with many ocean cruisers as a way to experience something different. Typically, river cruise vessels hold between 100 – 300 passengers depending on the cruise line, the river your cruising on and the destination. European rivers were where it all started, however recently new countries have been added to their portfolios. South America and the Amazon, the Nile River in Egypt, and the Mekong in Asia are just a few of the many offerings around the world. These types of cruises tend to be more all-inclusive than their ocean cruise counterparts, offering some included shore excursions and wine and beer with lunch and dinner. River cruises are designed to  provide a more immersive experience focusing on culture, history, and scenery. Couple that with wine tasting and you have the makings for an amazing cruise!

Ocean Cruising

Perhaps the biggest sector of the cruise industry with ship sizes and experiences in a broad range. Mega ships that can carry up to 5,000 or more passengers can be great vacation options for Multi-Generational families traveling together. Lots of entertainment for the young folks as well as several options for parents and grandparents. Some lines offer Adult Only cruises for those that prefer sailing without kids onboard. There are a few luxury cruise lines that have small ships that might only have 500 passengers onboard that offer an all-inclusive option. And there is a lot of other options in between. Small ships are premium brands offering a more intimate and personalized experience, access to smaller, less traveled ports of call, and a unique and authentic cruise experience.

Expedition Cruising

These are typically luxurious vessels that carry around 100 – 200 passengers and have exploration ‘toys’ onboard. ‘Toys’ being kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and zodiacs, among other things. They do cold water experiences in the Arctic and Antarctic circles, as well warm water options in the Galapagos and Sea of Cortez. One of the main attractions of expedition cruising is the chance to encounter exotic wildlife in their natural habitats. Onboard experts share their knowledge of the penguins, whales, polar bears, exotic birds and reptiles you may see as well as the nature and landscape of regions you’re in. These types of cruises are perfect for those seeking adventure and a deeper connection with nature and culture.
